India's Green Hydrogen Milestone: Amara Raja Infra's Landmark Achievement

A New Era of Clean Energy

Amara Raja Infra has etched its name in India’s green energy history by successfully constructing and commissioning the nation’s first green hydrogen fuelling station in the challenging terrain of Leh, Ladakh. This groundbreaking project, executed for NTPC Ltd., signifies a major leap towards a sustainable and low-carbon future.

Overcoming Engineering Challenges

The construction of the fuelling station presented a series of engineering challenges, including extreme weather conditions with temperatures ranging from -25°C to 30°C. Amara Raja Infra’s team of experts overcame these hurdles to deliver a robust and efficient facility. The station is designed to produce 80 kilograms of green hydrogen per day, powering a fleet of hydrogen fuel cell buses.

Pioneering Green Mobility

The operationalization of this green hydrogen fuelling station marks a significant milestone in India’s green mobility journey. By deploying hydrogen fuel cell buses, Leh will experience cleaner air and reduced carbon emissions. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of promoting sustainable transportation solutions and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

A Glimpse into the Future

Amara Raja Infra’s achievement in Leh serves as a catalyst for the widespread adoption of green hydrogen technology across India. The company’s expertise in renewable energy and infrastructure development positions it as a key player in the country’s transition to a hydrogen economy. As India embarks on its ambitious National Hydrogen Energy Mission, projects like these will play a pivotal role in shaping a greener and more sustainable future.
